❓ FAQ – Patients

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a brief therapy recognized by the WHO for treating psychological trauma. It uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sounds, tapping) to help the brain "digest" difficult experiences, whether old or recent.

Is EMDR right for me?

Yes, probably! EMDR is a comprehensive approach, effective for all situations of blockage, suffering, or discomfort. It can be applied to trauma, relational conflicts, anxiety, burnout, grief, phobias, or repetitive patterns that prevent you from moving forward. The goal is always the same: to help you regain your resources and inner freedom.

How does a session take place?

Each session lasts 1 hour . After a discussion to identify your priorities, you will be gently guided through bilateral stimulations, while remaining aware and active in your process. You never lose control.

Do you offer remote sessions?

Yes. 90% of consultations are conducted via teleconsultation , via video, from your home. It's simple, confidential, and just as effective.

How much does a consultation cost?

The cost is €70 per session . Some health insurance companies cover part of the cost. A receipt can be provided if necessary.

And for children or teenagers?

That's possible too. Protocols are adapted to their age and development. The work can include parents, school, or family networks as needed.

How many sessions should I plan?

It depends. Some issues can be alleviated in a few sessions, while others require more gradual work. We work at your pace.

Should I tell all the details of what I experienced?

No. You choose what you want to say. EMDR works even without recounting the traumatic scenes. What matters is how you feel, not what you say.

Does EMDR work for work-related problems?

Yes, of course. Julien Chauvin specializes in work-related psychopathology , burnout, harassment, professional conflicts, loss of meaning, etc. EMDR allows you to find peace and a clearer vision of your professional life.
