Welcome to a space dedicated to the emotional health of young people
At EMDR PE-PS , we believe it's never too early to start taking care of yourself... with gentleness, respect, and age-appropriate tools.
Childhood and adolescence are sensitive periods, rich in transformations but also in vulnerabilities. When certain events become too difficult to digest, EMDR can help restore emotional balance, ease internal tensions, and strengthen coping skills.
Why is EMDR effective in young people?
EMDR , or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing , is a research-backed therapy originally developed for traumatized adults… and now recognized for its effectiveness in children and adolescents as well.
It adapts to each stage of development, integrating play, imagination, narration, drawings or transitional objects. At EMDR PE-PS , we work from an initial regulation protocol , to reassure the child before any evocation of difficult memories.
A brief, ecological and respectful therapy
EMDR is a brief, solution-oriented approach : it does not rely on years of therapy, but on targeted steps that activate the brain's natural ability to heal itself.
Our approach is ecological : it respects the child's or young person's rhythm and functioning. We do not require them to verbalize their entire experience. We first create a space of trust, with tools adapted to their needs, by integrating the resources already present in their environment.
What difficulties can be treated with EMDR?
EMDR is a recognized method for treating a wide range of conditions in children and adolescents, including:
Anxiety
Fears, phobias, school stress, separation anxiety, OCD…
Traumas
Accidents, hospitalizations, assaults, violence, harassment...
Mourning and separations
Loss of a loved one, a pet, parental divorce, difficult move.
Attachment disorders
Early separations, adoption, emotional instability…
Eating disorders
Crises, control, body image…
Dropping out of school, school phobia
Anxiety, withdrawal, avoidance or refusal of school.
Sleep disorders
Nightmares, night terrors, insomnia.
Anger, aggression or impulsiveness
Conflicts, verbal or physical violence.
Lack of self-esteem or confidence

Psychological consequences of harassment
(suffered or observed).
Problems related to the adolescence/identity transition
Each support session begins with an active listening phase , allowing us to identify the specific needs of the child, young person and their family.
Solid scientific evidence
The effectiveness of EMDR in young people is now supported by numerous clinical studies. It is recognized by major institutions such as:
- The World Health Organization (WHO) , which recommends it for the treatment of post-traumatic stress.
- The American Psychological Association (APA) , which highlights its beneficial effects in various emotional problems.
- In France, the High Authority of Health also recognizes its effectiveness in the treatment of trauma.
EMDR is part of a rigorous, supervised clinical approach based on evidence.
Why choose EMDR PE-PS?
Because every child is unique , so is our approach. At EMDR PE-PS , we do not do EMDR "for children" by copying the adult protocol. We adapt each step , each rhythm, each tool. We also rely, if necessary, on complementary approaches : CBT (cognitive and behavioral therapy), family strategies, mental visualization, therapeutic games, etc.
Our goal: to restore internal resources, reduce suffering, and promote more fluid and secure emotional development .
How to make an appointment?
We offer consultations:
- in office (in Savoie and Haute-Savoie),
- at home (on request),
- or by teleconsultation , including for young people living abroad.
Do not hesitate to contact us to ask questions, express your doubts or discuss your family situation.
Therapy, support, a springboard
At EMDR PE-PS , we deeply believe that children and adolescents have an extraordinary capacity for resilience. Sometimes, just a few well-guided sessions are enough to unlock blocked potential.
Let's offer them a space to listen, to repair, and to build momentum. So that they can move forward, with confidence, toward their adult lives.
